Hokano Adventures is a grassroots tour operator specializing in
authentic off-the-beaten track adventures throughout Nicaragua. All our
adventures are led by local bilingual guides with all of them are free lance for
a fair payment, also all our adventures are designed to give you an
exceptional inside experience of the people, culture, traditions and
landscapes of this country. Many of our tours take you right into the homes
of local artists where you can watch or learn hands on traditional art forms or
cuisine. We also offer customized tour packages, allowing you to design
your own adventure or itinerary. All of our adventures focus of giving you the
most amazing experience Nicaragua while at the same helping support the
local community. A big percent of all our profits go directly towards the
non-profit community projects we work with local poor people to empower
them to get involved in tourism for better life conditions.
Tours range from volcano hikes, islands, lakes and beaches, to visits to local
artists and artisans in which you are invited to learn hands on traditional art
forms such as primitivism painting, guitar making, and ceramic sculpting.

Fundacion Hokano is an organization which is the main prject of our local
tour operator. A few non-profit community projects. Our social tour operator
¨Hokano Adventures¨ which offers tours in and around the city of Leon,
Nicaragua, functions in part to provide financial support to our non-profit
initiatives: a youth environment club, free English classes, tourism skills (like
tourism service, foreigner lenguage,enviromental knowlege, etc..) also we
promote Taller Artistico Xuchialt an art school for underprivileged children
which many of the teacher are voluntiers. All our projects are located in
Sutiaba an indegenous town locate 15 minutes walking to the west of Leon
city.
